GENaustin Kicks Off Fundraising Pilot Program: Big Brave

I have been a long-time supporter of GENaustin and have recently (as in about a week ago!) joined the board as Chair of its Marketing Committee. GENaustin is focused on helping girls in grades 5 – 12 navigate the unique and often difficult challenges of growing up as a girl – body image, self-confidence, media and social pressures, bullying, etc.

GENaustin is kicking off a new challenge-based fundraising effort this month called Big Brave. Participants have each selected a bucket goal to achieve this year and are asking friends and family to donate to GENaustin as part of their pledge to reach that goal. 100% of the money raised will go to GENaustin.

By participating in Big Brave, the participants are also demonstrating to the young girls in GENaustin’s programs how to set goals, achieve them, and overcome obstacles. They’re also inspiring the girls to think about what could be on their own bucket lists – and then start defining how they will reach their dreams.

In Austin on Wednesday January 22? Join me and GENaustin as we kick off this exciting challenge! Bungalow is donating 10% of sales from the evening to GENaustin, so stop by and have a cocktail or two for a good cause.
